By-Election: Aba Residents Call On President Buhari To Beef Up Security And Arrest Any Ballot Box Snatchers, Hoodlums and Political Thugs.
Ahead of the By-election set to hold on the 27th of March 2021 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, The residents in Aba and landlords have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to come to their aids in respect to ballot snatchers, thugs and hoodlums that are set to obstruct the choice of the people.
Speaking with our news men, Mazi Ikemba Ejiofor and some concerned residents and landlords in Aba North and South have raised concern that the upcoming By-election could be hijacked by the Abia State government of the PDP. He made this plea following an incident, where some thugs tried to obstruct the campaign train of the All Progressive Congress but were chased away by security men and the good youths of Aba.
“We are ready to vote but we are not having the confidence that our votes would be protected. We have suffered this for over 16 years now. The truth is that, the results declared to favor the PDP in previous elections is what has kept us in this mess we suffer here in Aba today.
“ look at our environment where we leave. Look at our business environment, the kind of smell we inhale every day, the mosquitoes that gives us sleepless nights and make us seek of malaria. It’s only a mad person that would be comfortable with the state of mess Aba is today. We need and deserve good roads, we need a clean environment, we need good water, what we need, the present PDP government can not offer us. They think of their pockets alone.
“We are calling on our President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in this our predicament, we want a free and fair election that will decide our future. By now, like it use to be, the PDP government would had planned to take this By-election the way they’ve always done. They’re arranging their thugs, ballot snatchers and hoodlums to steal our mandate.
“Let Orji Uzor Kalu our action governor and the senator representing Abia North take our message to Mr President. We don’t want to die in this perpetual decay. Our children are getting infected because of dirty environment, no drainages, no good roads. Sometimes, during raining season, every where gets flooded. Water even enters our houses and shops. We beg on the President Buhari to give us enough security so that our votes can be protected”. He said.Hoodlums and Political Thugs
